Day 5 - Bar Harbor, Freeport, Portland

 We left the lake this morning and headed to Bar Harbor.  


We walked around the entire town and down by the harbor.











From there to Freeport.  Here are some yard art pictures from along the drive.






On to Freeport.. No trip to Freeport would be complete without a stop at L L Bean.





I was so excited that Cliff bought me presents at L L Bean, I forgot to take pictures of the town! 😆

Shh..don't tell Cliff but I did get him a Christmas gift while at L L Bean😁

We made a stop in Portland at a toy store for Cliff so he could get a new tool.

We have stopped for the night in Seabrook, New Hampshire.

Day 1 Mystic, Connecticut

For once, we did not look at a map before we started our trip, and just relied on the GPS.  It took us thru NY over the upper level of the George Washington bridge.  Needless to say we will be checking the map for an alternate route on the way home.   It is always an adventure traveling with Cliff!!  Luckily big city driving doesn't seem to bother him. On the way to Mystic we stopped in Saybrook, Connecticut.  It was a cute little town with a beautiful harbour. We went to Groton, the submarine capital of the U.S.,  Nothing there worthy of picture taking!!   😂 On to Mystic....   I love this town!!  I don't know how I missed getting a picture of the tall ships, but we did watch the drawbridge go up while we were walking the downtown area. Day 2 - Lake Placid, NY

 Today we left Mystic, Connecticut and drove to Lake Placid, NY site of the 1932 and 1980  winter Olympics.  We walked downtown. Ate  at a German restaurant Took a walk down by Mirror Lake.   Our hotel sits on a hill overlooking the lake, it is beautiful.  They have many areas on the grounds with fire pits and picnic areas. Everywhere you look is a spectacular view. Tomorrow we head to Stowe Mountain and to Bangor, Maine.

Day 3 Vermont and Maine

 We left Lake Placid this morning and took the ferry across Lake Champlain We the headed to Stowe, Vermont to the ski resort to ride the gondola to the top of the mountain.  The views were spectacular!   Next up a walk around the town of Stowe.. And a stop for lunch, the New England clam chowder was delicious! We then drove to Bangor Maine for dinner and on to Cliffs friends cabin on Lake Pushaw. It has been a long day, I'm sure we are both going to sleep well!
