Day 1 Mystic, Connecticut

For once, we did not look at a map before we started our trip, and just relied on the GPS.  It took us thru NY over the upper level of the George Washington bridge.  Needless to say we will be checking the map for an alternate route on the way home.  

It is always an adventure traveling with Cliff!!  Luckily big city driving doesn't seem to bother him.

On the way to Mystic we stopped in Saybrook, Connecticut.  It was a cute little town with a beautiful harbour.

We went to Groton, the submarine capital of the U.S.,  Nothing there worthy of picture taking!!   😂

On to Mystic....  

I love this town!!  I don't know how I missed getting a picture of the tall ships, but we did watch the drawbridge go up while we were walking the downtown area.

This church sits on the top of a hill at the end of town.

We left downtown and went to Old Mystic village.  It has shops and restaurants.  They had live music, so after visiting the shops, we sat and listened for a while.

On to dinner, and the back to the hotel.  We are tired... We are not used to getting up early and today we got up at 5:15!!
