Day 2 - Lake Placid, NY

 Today we left Mystic, Connecticut and drove to Lake Placid, NY site of the 1932 and 1980  winter Olympics.  We walked downtown. Ate  at a German restaurant Took a walk down by Mirror Lake.   Our hotel sits on a hill overlooking the lake, it is beautiful.  They have many areas on the grounds with fire pits and picnic areas. Everywhere you look is a spectacular view. Tomorrow we head to Stowe Mountain and to Bangor, Maine.

Day 1 Mystic, Connecticut

For once, we did not look at a map before we started our trip, and just relied on the GPS.  It took us thru NY over the upper level of the George Washington bridge.  Needless to say we will be checking the map for an alternate route on the way home.   It is always an adventure traveling with Cliff!!  Luckily big city driving doesn't seem to bother him. On the way to Mystic we stopped in Saybrook, Connecticut.  It was a cute little town with a beautiful harbour. We went to Groton, the submarine capital of the U.S.,  Nothing there worthy of picture taking!!   ðŸ˜‚ On to Mystic....   I love this town!!  I don't know how I missed getting a picture of the tall ships, but we did watch the drawbridge go up while we were walking the downtown area.
